So many strange noises.  Lots of videos on Youtube about them...

Okay thats startin to freak me out.

That baseball one was just like the Kiev one.

I think I can explain the noises in Illinois.  Used to live in NW Indiana and traveled over to IL many times--there are bridges and overpasses that are paved in a certain way so that water doesn't collect on them, causing hydroplaning.  These are common in IN also in the area where I grew up.  When you drive over them, they "sing", sort of.  Sounds just like the video.

Okay ..so now ..they are saying it's to promote a movie right ...Is there a movie currently being made that has those things in it? Or ..are they real but because of CGI ..we wont believe it until it's stood right in our own face?

I thought about this one concernedmomma....guessing this. My first impression was that it was explosives used for mining purposes...the other earthquake situation is also near Mineral which is also a mining town.

 Now that I know where I live is in an intraquake area I cannot say that the minor tremors I felt this summer was from the bigger earthquake. There seems to be many fault lines surrounding my area, north of us, west of us, southeast of us, one seems to go across the state heading from the south towards the NE of the state, there are so many I could never know which direction.

Do you find it is strange that both places maybe mining areas?

Ahh Mining areas. I grew up in what was essentially an off shoot of an abandoned mining town. (Reno, NV)

There are so many old closed down mines in that area it's like swiss cheese. As teens we used to go 4 wheeling and we had to have a spotter just to not accidentally drive into a mine shaft/hole in the ground. LOL

Virginia City was one of the largest silver mines in Nevada. They actually had part of the town collapse in to the mine.
At night at certain times of the year you could go to the ancient cemetary there and some of the gravestone markers would glow blue. I went once to see it ..and never went back. There are loads of old time ghost towns in that whole area.
Let me tell you, I wouldnt be suprised if aliens came from below instead of above.

I thought it reminded me of explosives too but not exactly,  yanno?  But then I'm no expert...

During all the earthquakes we have had here people often HEAR it first and most people  will say it sounds like a truck coming.  That's why now some people here are paranoid about the sound of trucks, even hearing them go past on the street and they just freeze and even stop breathing because they're scared it's another large earthquake about to hit.

at first, it sounded like shotgun blasts like it does around here during dove season, but, the sound seemed to be moving didn't you think?
like it got louder and then more faint as it moved away?

That's a very "scratchy" sounding earthquake, huh.

Ours in Los Angeles always sounded like a freight train ready to come thru your living room.
