I grabbed the above story because it's the only one I've read so far which suggests she was murdered.   No other new's agencies seem to be suggesting that which seems a little peculiar.

Well, far be it from louie to poo-poo tinfoil, but I'm going to poo-poo this tinfoil.

The woman was a raving drug addict.  It's absolutely miraculous that she didn't die years ago.

Sources close to the musician suggested Whitney Houston may have dressed like she was “asking for it.” She was 48.

what was that supposed to mean?
and she must have been on some pretty amazing rare and large amounts of dope to have spent a fortune on it.
I don't know, just saying.

Pam, it was in quotes but of course it doesn't say who it was quoting.  Weird story.  It could well have been a "natural" death but it's interesting how often when the story first comes out it's different to what becomes the "official version" within hours.

Another report here:

Beverly Hills detectives were investigating, said Lieutenant Mark Rosen."There were no obvious signs of any criminal intent," he said.
Houston's publicist, Kristen Foster, said the cause of death was unknown, but the TMZ celebrity website said prescription drugs were found in the room and that Houston may have drowned in her bath.
Her body had been removed from the bath before paramedics arrived but it would be some days before the cause of death was known.

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainment/news/article.cfm?c_id=1501119&objectid=10785170

When the first stories came out they said she was found collapsed on the FLOOR.

There are also reports the police wouldn't let her relatives into the hotel room, not even her daughter or Dionne Warwick who was her cousin.

There's been stories lately that she was on the verge of bankruptcy. She may have died by her own as it were because of drug use, or maybe she was worth more to someone dead than alive?  I guess the police will be looking at all that.

Whatever, a great shame.   She had an incredible voice and was a great talent.

Oh FWIW I just read about this in our printed newspaper The Press and the story quotes an official Police spokesman  (it gave their name but I've forgotten it ) saying she was found collapsed on the FLOOR.

Alright.

I read today that, secretly, Whitney was a CIA operative.  She just masqueraded as a singer all these years as cover to be able to listen in on conversations of mucky-mucks in the entertainment industry who were invovled in all sorts of underhanded dealings.  ;)

(I could go on, but it seems almost sacreligious to the poor woman.)

[However, I will say that one can see how easy it is for rags like the National Enquirer, etc. to make things up.  And, of course, we know that not all of their stuff is made up, either.  Like Tommy Lee Jones said, that's where you have to go to get the news.]

You know what gets me .Is the grammy's.

So the grammy's are planned months in advance. It has to be a huge undertaking getting everyone seated 'just right' not stepping on toes in a who's who sort of way. The way it is produced and who goes on stage when, is all carefull coergraphed? Right?

So Whitney dies Friday night then not even 48 hours later You have all these stars singing songs to her and 'paying tribute' in the Grammy's. Like a whole production that has taken months to set up is tossed to the wind and a new one is put in at the last minute.

Fishy.

Also, I know ..this is off the deep tinfoil end but, isn't it odd the timing of her death? Right when all the hate wars were getting good with the up and comming Pres hopefuls. Seems to me Michael Jackson's death was kinda the same type of deal?  Like there was alot of big political moves/alliances going on and the 'heat' needed to be distracted.,

So sad. All that money and instead of hiring counselors and people to just keep an eye on her if she couldn't control herself, she hung out with drug addicts, alcoholics and people who used and abused her.  With all the people she met, she couldn't find one good man to love?

As someone on a news blog pointed out, Bruce Springsteen who headed up the proceedings is 62 years old and still fit and vital, and he's had plenty of tragedy in his life to deal with.  It just goes to show that if you don't stick your money up your nose, wealth and fame hasn't got to be a curse.

As to the almost instantaneous changeover to some tributes, I think with the hundreds of people involved in this, it would be relatively easy. I'm sure a lot of the performers offered to help redo their chosen songs, and maybe the 'I Will Always Love You' song was added at the last minute.

Whitney Houston Songs: Sony Raises Prices 30 Minutes after Singer's Death

Whitney Houston, the celebrated pop music icon, died on Saturday at the age of 48. While many around the world mourned, Sony Music immediately raised the price of Houston's greatest hits album, "Ultimate Collection," on iTunes and Amazon.

Sony Music raised the price of Houston's songs just 30 minutes after her death, reports The Guardian. The retail price was raised from about $8 (£4.99) to about $13 (£7.99), which automatically raised the price of digital sales on platforms such as iTunes.

Apple and Sony originally declined to comment, but Sony later answered to the outcries from fans around the world including those in Australia and Great Britain.

^^Did you know that HALF an hour after she died Sony put the prices of her records up which in turn made the price on things like Itunes and downloadable sites automatically jump up in price as well.

http://venturebeat.com/2012/02/13/whitney-houston-digital-music-price-hike/

This is one of those things, that is very odd.

She had denegrating reports made about her after her death as well in a sad attempt to justify why she may have (killed herself) drown in the bath. Like ..She was fihgting with her kids, and she was Bankrupt and she was abusing the drugs again ..ALL ARE FALSE AND HAVE SINCE BEEN REPORTED AS SUCH.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/rogerfriedman/2012/02/16/exclusive-whitney-did-leave-a-will-and-she-wasnt-bankrupt/

However ..it's just like Michael J isnt it? The star has outlived its usefulness let's have them OD so we can reap the rewards of all those fat ass copyrighted contracts we hold ..right?

And another thing, this is just CREEPY ..Recall on MJ how they had all these hours of his music recorded but not yet put together or released? and then they did a whole album of his after dead songs?

Well check out his line from that above link ::
And while there may not be a lot in the vaults of unreleased material, there will be enough to do some kind of souvenir album.

Just my take on it.

An aide to Whitney Houston has confessed to clearing her room before police arrived following her death.
Self-described entertainment consultant Raffles Van Exel admitted he carried out the action to Dutch Telegraph newspaper, saying 'Someone had to do it.'
However he stopped short of saying exactly what he removed from the suite, an important omission following claims cocaine had been removed from the scene.
Celebuzz revealed he made the confession in an interview with the respected Netherlands newspaper just four days following her death, where he also said: 'The room had to be emptied.'
On his Twitter page van Exel touts himself as a European actor, music consultant and producer, and that he is a 'highly respected entertainment consultant having guided some of the world greatest.'
He was also friendly with pop prince Michael Jackson before his untimely passing in 2009.

Autopsy: Whitney Houston found scarred, high, scalded, missing teeth

The London tabloid The Sun reported Sunday that the final autopsy report of legendary singer Whitney Houston has revealed a cocktail of illicit drugs, 11 missing teeth, a weakened coronary artery and “skin slippage” where scalding water burned her body as she lay in the bathtub where she died.

The bath water where Houston was found measured 91.4 degrees Fahrenheit six hours after her death, suggesting a temperature of as high as 150 degrees when she died.

The medical examiner’s report, the newspaper claimed, also revealed a perforated nasal septum caused by habitual cocaine use.

One coronary artery, according to the report, was found to have narrowed by 60 percent. And several scars indicated a series of plastic surgeries on her chest, stomach and left thigh.
Cocaine traces were found in her body, along with marijuana, the anti-anxiety medication Xanax and the muscle relaxant Flexeril. The autopsy also identified Benadryl and Ibuprofen in her system.
A cocaine-covered spoon was reportedly found in Houston’s Beverly Hills hotel suite after her death, along with rolled-up paper and powder cocaine on a mirror kept in a bathroom drawer. Medical examiners also noted an old puncture mark inside her left elbow.
The Sun reported speaking with sources who reported that a scar on her inner left forearm may have been the result of a self-inflicted wound.

I find the release of her autopsy to be very heartbreakingly soul crushingly sad.

She tried so hard ..so utterly hard in the end to hide these glaring truths and when she is dead and at her most vunerable everyone is seeing her laid naked and bare.

Why is it really any of our damn business?
