Did ONE high-tech worker bring RBS to its knees? Junior technician blamed for meltdown that froze millions of accounts

A junior technician in India caused the RBS computer meltdown which froze millions of British bank accounts, it was claimed last night.
The ‘inexperienced operative’ erased a massive swathe of information during a routine software upgrade for the Royal Bank of Scotland and its subsidiaries NatWest and Ulster Bank, according to reports.
The worker was understood to have been part of a team recruited in Hyderabad after the bank laid off more than 20,000 UK staff and outsourced work abroad.

Really?

Or maybe they were sabotaged from within or without and don't want that information getting out?

They're going to have to think up another lie.  That one is getting old.  How many "junior" employees is this now, causing major meltdowns?  I can remember three.

Time to think up another one.  The masses are stupid, but they aren't that stupid.  Although, really, what are we going to do about it?  If we had any sense, RBS wouldn't even have any customers.

Oh, well.

I was saying to hubby watch this one (cause our family are all brits and so actually bank with one of those banks)

But I was sayin....this is a bank run cover up. Guaranteed. They are trying to spin this so more people dont connect the dots and get their money out now.

Spain ..Germany, France, ...they are all reporting losses of late that are 'unexplained' so to speak.

Well aren't you just a fun little lollipop triple dipped in psycho......

This is complete BS. No one junior technician in Hyderabad would have had that kind of access to both delete live data and install software. You don't just 'accidentally delete' data during a software upgrade. And even if you could that's what backups are for. I would imagine this is somebody trying cover their ass and appeal to anti-outsourcing sentiment all at the same time.

Got this from a different thread but it sooo applies here.

  • Lloyds, HSBC and Royal Bank of Scotland admit they are also being investigated over alleged involvement in the scam.

  • So you see this crap really IS a bank run and they are just trying to hide it to stay afloat. But people are getting smarter about their little back room antics and they are not taking that crap anymore.

Here's the thing about a bank run: the money isn't going to be worth anything.  I think we can see that.  People are getting money out that either a) "they" are going to make worthless just by the fact that it is, and always has been, worthless fiat currency, or b) "they" are going to make worthless by massive hyperinflation.

Either way, even if people are trying to get our money out of the banks, I don't think it's going to matter.

But, for sure, something is up.  Bank run?  The bank is already past insolvent and they are trying everything they can to hide it?

Doesn't matter, it's about the end of the line for all of them.

I tend to think that a bank run is just the fact that people have lost all 'trust' in said bank. Perhaps I am wrong in my terminoligy?

Them taking their money out and it still being 'worthless' is irrelevant to most peoples minds. They don't understand how them taking their money 'else where" would effect others they are just merely concerned with their own self worth.

Loosing trust in a bank is about the worst thing that can happen to a bank. As long as they are able to dup the sheep they can keep on making money. I mean hell look at the billions that the CEO's are still raking in after all our bank troubles here in America.
